Law School Application Cycle Workshop

January 27 - Attorney Diane Whitney, Pre-law Advisor, will speak about the application process and the Law School Admission Test.  This meeting will be especially important to juniors.

February 10 - Professor Bethany Berger from UConn Law will speak about law school in general and about her special area of interest, which is Native American Law.

February 24 - Attorney Aigne Goldsby will be the speaker. Attorney Goldsby is the founder of Black Esquire LLC; staff attorney for the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), a career coach with special interest in diversity, equity and inclusion consulting; past president of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association and on the board of the ACLU, among many other things.

March 10 - Attorney Proloy Das, attorney with Murtha Cullina, will be the speaker. Attorney Das is an appellate attorney who has argued more than 70 appeals before the Connecticut Supreme Court, Appellate Court, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York.

March 31 - Judge Kevin Doyle, Connecticut Superior Court

April 7 - Attorney Diane Whitney, Pre-Law Advisor, Law School Application Boot Camp. Everything you need to know when applying to law school.

Fall 2020 Events

September 16 – Diane Whitney, JD speaks at Law Society 

LAW SOCIETY PROGRAM ON LAW SCHOOL APPLICATIONS. All you need to know about applying to law schools will be the subject of the Law Society meeting on Wednesday, September 16th from 6 to 7 pm.

September 30 – Lee Hoffman, JD speaks at Law Society

Lee Hoffman is a partner at Pullman & Comley where he is chair of the Energy and Environmental Department and a member of the Executive Committee of the firm. His practice includes the siting of power facilities, especially solar and wind.  He is a graduate of Tulane University and received both a JD and LLM from George Washington School of Law.

October 14 – Erik Russell, JD speaks at Law Society

Erik Russell is an associate in the Government and Finance Department of Pullman & Comley, having been previously a summer associate at the firm. He is a graduate of the University of New Haven and UConn School of Law. Erik is very active in Democratic politics both in Connecticut and nationally, and an active member of the George Crawford Law Society and Lambda Legal.

October 15 – Listen to the Experts: Law School Admissions Representative Virtual Panel

October 28 – New England Law School Panel

IMPORTANT LAW SOCIETY MEETING! The Law Society Meeting on Wednesday, October 28th will be special.  A panel of Admissions Directors from law schools in New England will answer all your questions and bring you up to date on what is going on with law school admissions in the midst of a pandemic.  Representatives from the following schools will be on the panel:  Northeastern, Roger Williams, UConn, University of New Hampshire, Vermont Law School, and the University of Maine.

November 11 – William Tong, CT Attorney General speaks at Law Society

EXCITING Law Society Meeting! The speaker at the Law Society meeting on November 11th will be Connecticut Attorney General William Tong.  AG Tong is an activist attorney general, engaged in matters with other states that affect the whole country.
