Ava Halovatch

Hello everyone! My name is Ava Halovatch (she/her/hers) and I’m from North Haven, Connecticut. I am currently a junior completing a dual degree in Economics and Finance. I am a member of the Honors Program and the Special Program in Law (SPinL). Since I am interested in corporate law, especially when it connects to the financial industry, I am excited to connect with other students with similar passions!

Over the past two summers, I have interned at the Law Offices of Balzano & Tropiano, a personal injury law firm. Through this internship, I was able to gain hands-on experience and learn vital knowledge about the legal process. I have had the opportunity to shadow mediations, court proceedings, criminal court cases, and have one-on-one conversations with lawyers and judges. This past summer, I focused on conducting legal research and using that information to draft complaints.

On campus, I am a member of the Opportunity Fund Project and Delta Sigma Pi, the co-ed business fraternity on campus. In addition, I am the campus ambassador for the University Female Investors International Network (UFIIN), an organization that increases access to opportunities in the financial industry for women across the globe. Off campus, I am the vice president of a non-profit called For Every Step. This has been my personal passion over the past couple years, since the organization works to support the mental health of individuals struggling with movement disorders. I have also become a pre-law peer advisor here at UCONN and would love to help other students find internships and involvement opportunities on campus that align with their passions. Always reach out with any questions, I’m happy to chat about anything!
