Hello everybody, my name is Makenzie Cossette (she/her/hers) and I’m double majoring in Political Science and Law and Society (Individualized) with minors in Philosophy, Public Policy, and American Studies. I am from Wolcott, Connecticut and I am currently a junior, but I’ll be graduating a year early.
I’m involved in the Honors Program, the Special Program in Law (SPinL), and UConn School of Public Policy’s Fast-Track MPA Program. I am passionate about law, public policy, and politics, and I am eager to be a resource to other students who share these passions!
On campus, I serve as the Editor-in-Chief of UConn’s Undergraduate Political Review, where I work with a talented team of writers and editors to publish a semester-long political journal. I also had the privilege of participating in the Bennett Research Assistant Program through the Department of Political Science, and I am currently working on research for my honors thesis.
Throughout the past few years, I have completed internships within a government, nonprofit, and law firm setting, and I would love to chat with students about how to find exciting experiential learning opportunities that match your interests!
I also serve as a Resident Assistant in the Honors Learning Community and a Peer Mentor for the Individualized Major Program, which has helped me develop mentoring/advising skills. As a Pre-Law Peer Ambassador (PLPA), I’m looking forward to helping students navigate everything from choosing a major to preparing for the LSAT. In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, shopping, and watching Gilmore Girls!
I would love to connect with you about:
